HILIGT, Upper Limit Servers II — Implementing the data servers
نویسندگان
چکیده
The High-Energy Lightcurve Generator (HILIGT) is a new web-based1 tool which allows the user to generate long-term lightcurves of X-ray sources. It provides historical data and calculates upper limits from image in real-time. HILIGT utilizes twelve satellites, both modern missions such as XMM-Newton Swift, earlier facilities ROSAT, EXOSAT, Einstein or Ariel V. Together, this enables query 50 years and, for instance, study outburst behavior transient In paper we focus on individual back-end servers each satellite, detailing software layout, database design, catalog calls, footprints. We compile all relevant calibration information these provide an in-depth summary details astronomical instrumentation data.

Implementing Quality of Service in Web Servers
This paper analyzes the importance of differentiated services implementation in current web servers, within the context of new Internet applications. An innovative approach of resource management is presented, which is carried out through Proportional Cumulative Value Attribution (PCV) heuristic. This heuristic acts through two policies, which in response to the requests, simultaneously, sort t...
متن کاملImplementing constant-bandwidth servers upon multiprocessor platforms
In constant-bandwidth server (CBS) systems, several different applications are executed upon a shared computing platform in such a manner that each application seems to be executing on a slower dedicated processor. CBS systems have thus far only been implemented upon uniprocessors; here, a multiprocessor extension, which can be implemented upon computing platforms comprised of several identical...
متن کاملData Management in Application Servers
This paper surveys data management techniques used in Application Servers. It begins with an overview of Application Server architectures and the way they have evolved from earlier transaction processing systems. It then presents a ta-xonomy of clustered services that differ in the way they manage data in memory and on disk. The treatment of conversational state is discussed in depth. Finally, ...
متن کاملImplementing Highly-Available WWW Servers Based on Passive Object Replication
In this paper we investigate issues related to building highly-available World Wide Web (WWW) servers on workstation clusters. We present a novel architecture that includes a dynamic Domain Name System (DNS) and a WWW server based on passive object replication. This architecture allows to reduce the service down-time of a WWW server without impacting on the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP) p...
متن کاملImplementing Policy-Based Content Filtering for Web Servers
Web servers dominate our view of the Web today. Security provided by them has been implemented with varying degrees of success. Web servers are frequently successfully attacked, with subsequent loss of corporate loss of face or revenue. Recent legislation has increased the importance of ensuring that only approved users gain access to information, which often implies filtering content served by...
